Cuts to Legal Aid

The government is proposing to cut Legal Aid. And it looks like it will affect women and children directly. As Justice for All puts it, ‘Proposed legal aid changes will disproportionately affect women, and the most vulnerable women will suffer most.

Rights of Women, a Justice for All member, has identified that women generally will be more affected by cuts to legal aid but those who will be most affected are women who experience violence; disabled women; Black, Minority Ethnic and Refugee and asylum-seeking women (BMER women).’
